New Clients, Welcome!

Please take a few moments to read about what makes us different!

When you come into Salty Dog, you will notice right away that we aren't like other salons. We keep a quiet, mellow atmosphere that promotes calm and positive behaviors; even from pets who generally don't enjoy grooming. How do we manage this? We work one-on-one on each pet and don't keep dogs waiting in cages. Each stylist only works on one family's pets at a time. When you make an appointment with us, you are booking a solid 1-3 hours, or more, of our undivided attention with your pets. Because of this, we ask that you please be on time for your appointments, and we discourage early arrivals as you may distract the pets who are already in our care. We will always text you 20-30 minutes before your pet's grooming is finished, and we ask that you come to pick them up within 1 hour from our message. If you anticipate any conflicts or that you may be late to drop off or pick up your pet, please let us know as far in advance as possible so we may make arrangements. We understand that things happen!

No-Call No-Shows seriously hurt our small family business.

New customers or repeat offenders may be asked to leave a $50 deposit.

Should you need to cancel, as long as it is within 24 hours before your appointment, the deposit will be refunded or we can credit towards a future grooming appointment. We always text the day before to confirm.

Should you no-show or cancel last minute, the deposit will not be refunded OR credited toward future appointments.

We may refuse future services or require your next appointment to be paid in full to book your next appointment. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding our cancellation policies.

Before your first visit to Salty Dog, be sure to read over our rules that may differ from other salons you have visited. These may seem strict but these rules are to protect all pets in our care.

  • All pets must be leashed or carried for pick up and drop off! Please do not release your pet or remove their collar until directed to do so by a staff member who has control of your pet.

  • Our appointments are booked to allow one on one time for each pet. Late arrivals impact our other appointments. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we may need to reschedule your appointment or may not be able to complete the full service you booked. A last minute cancellation fee may apply

  • We do not have enough space to accept early drop offs without prior arrangement. If you happen to arrive early, there is a dog walking trail behind the salon, complete with poop bags!

  • For the same reason, we are also unable to keep pets after their groom is completed. We ask that you pick your pet up promptly upon completion. We text in advance of finishing the groom and ask that you pick up within an hour of our message. A day care fee may apply to pets left in our care past their appointment.

  • We DO NOT accept pets who are under heavy sedation, infested with parasites (fleas, ticks, tapeworm), or pets who have had severe diarrhea in the past 24 hours. Present flea or tick infestations MUST BE TREATED with an oral flea medication at least 12 hours prior to your appointment.  Should we find parasites on your pet, there will be an additional charge of $25-50 per pet added to your ticket. Baths are NOT an alternative to prescribed flea preventative!

  • If you have a nervous or anxious pet and would like to give something to help them mellow out, we offer natural, hemp-based anti-anxiety drops at the salon or you are welcome to use another natural anxiety reliever of your choice for your pet prior to the appointment, but please inform your groomer. We do not accept pets under chemical restraint such as acepromazine. If your pet is prescribed a sedative or anxiety medication for grooming, you MUST let us know and provide your prescribing veterinarians contact info.

  • We will TEXT OR CALL YOU before your pet's grooming is complete! Should you arrive early and distract your pet, we reserve the right to end the grooming session, at full cost, even if your pets grooming isn't completed! If you arrive and see your pet is still being finished, enter quietly and have a seat in the lobby. For your pet's safety, DO NOT talk to or excite your fur baby until they are off of the grooming table!

You may think this sounds crazy, but we are crazy about pets and it is imperative to us that each experience is as positive as possible. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments please do not hesitate to call, text, or email us.
